New IdentityTheft Scam

Toyota is launching a privacy portal to help customers have more control over their connected-vehicle data. Users will now have the ability to choose which parties they want to share their data with and why, including for insurance purposes. If a user opts out of data sharing that will impact a specific service, they will receive a warning message letting them know exactly how this decision impacts their services and subscriptions. “Toyota strictly adheres to the Automotive Consumer Privacy Protection Principles we’ve established in partnership with 19 other automakers,” said Zack Hicks, executive vice president and chief digital officer at Toyota Motor North America. “Part of that commitment is transparency around the collection and processing of connected vehicle data. We are proud to further enhance our level of transparency with the release of Data Privacy Portal, giving consumers a clear sense of when and how their data is used.”
